A novel of salvage high chapter 31

     Alex’s POV

I returned to our hangout fuming in anger, while Gabriel and Jeremy add insult to my injury.

   “What now?” Jeremy asked.

“What do you mean? She f¥cking rejected in the brutal way ever. She is officially our enemy now.” Gabriel blurted.

“We were just fine yesterday, and now she said I stink.” I muttered, sharing my sadness with anger.

“Do you think Melanie told her about the dare?” Jeremy asked.

“Even still, she should have confronted Alex upfront. Not hurt his feelings like this.” Gabriel said.

“We all know Keisha, we might not know her too well, but I believe we are aware that she hates being the victim. She would have chosen to act that way if she find out about the dare.” Jeremy said, and I stood up.

   “Where to?” Gabriel asked.

“To confront them, the both of them.”  I muttered, within clenched teeth when the broadcast began.

   “What? That’s us?” Gabriel shouted.

“How is this possible? Who could have  recorded our conversation?” Jeremy said.

“Melanie, it could only be Melanie.” I muttered, with clenched fist.

“Come on, we must hurry to the broadcasting station before it goes extreme.” Jeremy shouted.

“Why should we?” Gabriel asked, and we both looked at him; confused.

“What do you mean?” Jeremy asked.

“If our conversation is broadcasted, who is it going to affect? Who is gonna get hurt? Probably not us.” Gabriel blurted, and I glared at him.

“What nonsense are you saying? This is very embarrassing to Keisha.” Jeremy shouted.

“Why do you care? Why? Do you like her? She brutally rejected Alex, so we shouldn’t be concerned about her.”

“F¥ck off.” I shouted, and ran out; followed by Jeremy.

The broadcast stopped before we got to the broadcasting station, and we went in to see Eva (one of the Bees)

“You bltch.” I shouted, and aimed to hit her, but Jeremy held me back.

“Eva, why did you broadcasted that?” Jeremy asked.

“That was a mistake.” She blurted, unconcerned.

“What do you mean mistake? Do you know the consequences of your actions? Where did you even got that record?” I shouted.

“I’ll answer that later, I’m summoned to the principal’s office.” She said, and left.

“Relax, man. The deed has been done.”

“What do I do now? Keisha won’t be able to handle this.”

“You must really like her, seeing that at this point you still care about how she feels.”

“Does that matter now? Who will believe me if I say I do.”

“I believe you.” He said, and I scoffed.

“Don’t try to be funny. We need to fix this. Should I make a public announcement ?” I asked.

“That would be worst. Everyone will think you are trying so hard to win the dare. Even Keisha  will think the same.”

“It was you.” We heard someone muttered from behind, and we turned to see Keisha’s brother, his face twisted in anger.

“Wait, wait, relax bro…”I muttered in fear counting few steps back. I don’t even under why I was scared, but at that point, I couldn’t think of anything else.

Each step I took backwards, he takes closer, and Jeremy stood there without taking any action.

“Save me, Jeremy.” I almost cried.
  📌 Keisha’s POV 📌
I stood like a stature, dumbfounded as I listen to the students mocking me to my face. I stood there hoping for an escape, and the least person I expected came to my rescue - Stella.

He cover my face with his jacket, and dragged me away. I’m blind to my surroundings, but I allow him to drag me. Until we got to the rooftop.

“It is fine, you can curse him.” He said, and I nodded.

“That b@stsrd.” I shouted, and started raining him curses in tears until I felt relieved.

Stella laughed, and led me to seat next to him

“You told me he was different .” I said.

“But turns out they were all the same.” He replied.

“Everyone is talking about me.” I said, and he collected my phone.

“Ignore them. Let’s ignore them all today until you thunk of a way to counter attack.”

“I can’t think of anything.” I honestly said.

“Come on, don’t be like this. Our anti-fans will be joyous if they see you this way. You are Ms. Fearless a member of the  no bully squad. You should show them what you are made of.” He said, and I laughed.

   “You are funny, Stella.”

“What can I do to make you feel better? Just mention it.”

“Can you hit Alex for me?” I asked, and he stood up.

“With your command, I’ll do anything.”

“You are funny. If we do that, we won’t be different from them. Do they pull dares like this often?” I asked, and he let out a sigh.

“A lot. But Gabriel is mostly the game, and Jeremy at times.”

   “And broadcast it?”

   “No, this is new.”

“Is this the worst dare they have pulled?”

“No. There was a girl, Ana Brown. She almost committed suicide after Gabriel reveled to the whole school, that he had a nightstand with her to win a dare. He even emphasized on how bad she was on bed.” He said, and I hanged my mouth opened.

   “Where is she now?”

“She transferred. The school authorities rescued  her when she wa trying to commit suicide on this rooftop. Right here.” He said, and I looked around.

“Why would they do such?” I grumbled.

“Because she was fo0l of herself. She recently transferred from Los Angeles, and acted like a queen. They wanted to put her in her place. I heard she laid low after she transferred. You are lucky, Kei.”

“I’m sure Alex was furious that’s why he did that. He couldn’t win the date, so he decide to get back at me with this.”

“You rejected him?” He asked, in bewilderment.

   “Yes.”

   “Did you have it recorded?”

   “I didn’t. Why would I record that?”

“Gosh! Now, we have to prove it to the whole school that you rejected him, and all is over.” He said

I looked at him all smiles, but the smile dled down immediately.
“But how will we do that?”

“It’s simple. You just have to confront him.” He said.

“How?” I asked, because at that point my head is completely blank.

“Hey, Alex. Just because I rejected you, you broadcasted it to the whole school that your intention was a dare. Either it’s a dare or real, shame on you. You are beneath my league.” He said, and I applaud him - that was perfect. “Just like that, Ms. Fearless. Remember, I got your back.” He said, and we both did a high five.

“Let’s go, Ms. Fearless, we got this.” He said, and we held hands.

I collected my phone from him, and was surprised by the current gist on the school group.

“Who is the guy? Is he a fan too? Why did he confronted Alex?”

“He is my brother. We have to go to Stef.” I said, and ran off.

“Wait for me.” He shouted, running after me.

We arrived at the broadcasting station and met the place a mess. Students already left, and the culprits have been summoned to the principal’s office.

“Wow. It seems like a big fight here. We really missed out.” Stella said.

    “We surely did.”

“Come on, let’s go. I’ll get the full gist from reliable source.” Stella said, and I nodded.

We went to the hallway, and he left the junior block while I continued on my way before few students approached me.

“So, it was all a dare. Shame on you, Ms. Fearless or whatever you are called.” One of the girls said, and I rolled my eyes.

“Everyone, it’s time for the next class.” U heard Chris voice said, and they all grumbled before leaving.

“Chris.” I called, wondering if he is going to jeer about warning me from the start.

“You did nothing wrong, Keisha. So you shouldn’t skip classes.” He said, and I nodded.

He was right, I did nothing wrong. They were the one at fault for toying with my feelings.

We went to class together, and all eyes fell on me followed by silence.

“This is the beginning of a new drama in my life. Can I ever have a peaceful day at school?” I thought, before going to my seat.
   📌 Alex’s POV 📌
Keisha’s brother and I almost combat in a fight, and I used the equipment in the broadcasting station to defend myself. I don’t know why I’m acting weak with him, but the guilt I felt made me helpless.

While escaping his wrath, I mistakenly put on the speaker, and before we knew it, almost everyone gathered and that was when we realized what we did

We were later summoned to the principal’s office, and Keisha’s brother stood there without uttering a word.

“Mr. Wilson, I’m highly disappointed to see you take part in this, you have been a modest student since you enrolled in this school.” The principal said, and I could tell that she was indirectly referring to me as a trouble maker. What was the cause of the fight? We ruin everything in the broadcasting station.” He shouted.

“I’ll take responsibility for the damages, sir.” I muttered.

“This isn’t a matter a taking responsibility, I already summoned your parents.” He said, and we all looked at him.

    “What?” Jeremy shouted.

“Your parents will be here shortly.”

“Sir, I wasn’t even involved. Why will you summon my parents?” Jeremy complained.

“Hey! Do you want me to fall alone?” L asked, and he scoffed.

“You should have thought about that.” He grumbled.

“Baby, what happened to you?” We heard a woman asked, hurrying in, and we all looked at her. “Did you get hurt? Talk to me, sweetie?” She asked, touching Jeremy, and my eyes widen.

“Mum, I’m fine. I wasn’t even the one fighting.” Jeremy said, cupping her face in his palm.

I would have thought she was his aunty, considering how young she looks, but her affection made her seem like a sugar mummy. She is just too young.  I have only seen her a few times, but she looks even more younger to me - just like anyone will think my father is my grandfather.

“Ms. Taylor, I apologize for summoning you here on such short notice.” The principal said, after clearing his throat.

“My baby will never get into a fight unless they provoked him. So, tell me, darling, who did it?” His mother asked, and he embraced her.

“I’m fine, mum.  I’m not the one who fought, I just happen to be there.”

“Then you are just a witness.” He shouted, releasing from the embrace.

“Ms. Taylor, we are ye…-“ the principal was saying, but she stopped talking when Jeremy cupped his mother’s face in his palm.

“When you act that way, I just love to kiss you.” He said, and pecked her cheek before the door slugs open and my father emerged.

“Chairman Grey, I apologize for summoning you here on such short notice.” The principal said.

“If your apology is sincere, then offer me a seat.” He said, and the principal chuckled.

The door laughs open again, and that’s was probably Stefan’s father.

“Stef, did you really got in a fight?” He asked, looking excited.

“Mr. Wilson, I apologize for summoning you here in such short notice.” The principal said.

“It’s fine. Was he bullied or he fought?” He asked, looking at the principal with yearning eyes.

    “No, he started the fight.”

“Really, son? This is news to me.” He said, and patted Stef shoulder like he won a medal.

“Mr. Wilson.” The principal called, and he looked at the principal delighted.
*
We all stood outside the reception while our parents talk to the principal.

“Why was I caught in this? I should have stayed back like Gabriel.” Jeremy complained.

“That mor0n ditched us. I’m done with him.” I muttered.

“Same here, I’m done with you.” Jeremy shouted, and I looked at Stef.

“Hey bro, you should have listened to you, I really didn’t do it. It wasn’t me.” I said, and Stef looked at me.

“If you didn’t do it, then who did?” He asked.

“It was Melanie.” We heard Gabriel said, joining us, and we all looked at him. “I confronted her, and confirmed it.” He added.

“You sly, I thought you ditched us.” Jeremy and I chorused.
