A novel of salvage high chapter 6

            Keisha POV
I got home and couldn’t stop thinking about the note, wondering who I could ask about it. When Kaye and I were in middle school, we normally send out anonymous letters to whoever gets on our bad side so they can be prepared for the worse. I tossed and turned on my bed thinking of who to ask about the note, and I went to the least person I expected. Mr. Headphones.
*
I found myself knocking on his room door but got no response.

“Is he not in?” I thought. But considering his nature, I’m fully aware that he might just decide to ignore, pretending to be on his headset.

I twist the doorknob and was surprised to see it’s open. I went in and looked around; the room looks so empty. If I haven’t seen him come out from that room, I would’ve thought that I was in the wrong room. But I still deliberated because the room doesn’t look like someone lives there, until I saw his headset.

“It’s really his room, but where is he?” I thought, and started wondering if he is outside until the bathroom door slugs open, and he came out on a just towel tied around his waist.

He was taken aback, and instantly covered his chest but I laughed it off. Seeing a man barechest is not a big deal to me because Kaye normally roam around the house on just his boxers, and it’s not a big deal with my male friends as well.

“Hi, you must workout a lot.” I said, complimenting his manly body, and he gave me a weird look; obviously he thought I’m insane to compliment his body.

“What do you want?” He asked, in a s£xy baritone voice, and I found myself drooling. No wonder he doesn’t talk, his voice is precious. At times, I even wondered if he is dumb.

“I’ll be quick, so listen to me.”

“Get out.” He muttered, and turned to return to the bathroom.

Thinking of a way to stop him, I found myself doing the silliest thing ever.

“Fine, then I’ll leave with this. If you won’t hear me out.” I threatened, and took his headphones. If he really cherished it like I thought, then it should be enough to threaten him.

“Drop that, and leave.” He said, his eyes turning red in furry.

“So scary. But I’m not scared. Did you know my nickname at former school? Tommy girl. Because I could stand up against anyone. You might have all the strength, but I’m not scared of you. I’m sure you are aware that I got a fancy nickname in our school as well. Although I was bullied right after.” I said, laughing sarcastically - but he wasn’t convinced. “You can go to the bathroom, while I use your bed.” I added, and sat comfortably on his bed.

“What do you want?” He asked, and I could tell that he is calming down.

“This, explain this.” I said, showing him the note. A glance at it, took him aback. Obviously, it was a deadly threat. “Say something, I got this at school, and couldn’t stop thinking about it.”

“It means you must transfer.” He said, and I found myself laughing.

   “Come on, explain in details.”

   “Leave my room.”

“I won’t leave unless you explain this.” I said, and he finally surrendered.

“It’s a threat sent by Alex and his friends to whoever they want out of the school. The moment a student receives this, that student must transfer, otherwise he or she will get bullied by the entire school for the rest of their schooling.”

“Wow. That’s so scary.” I said, and started laughing. “Gosh, I thought this stuffs is for kids? Who does it in high school?” I said, still laughing.

I looked at him, and he didn’t consider it funny. So, silly thoughts started running on my mind, wondering if he has ever been bullied.

“Have you ever been bullied at school?” I asked, and he glared at me.

“Get out.” He muttered, and collected his headphone.

“Thank you, I’ll leave. Thanks for the informations.” I said, and bowed before leaving.
*
I went out of his room, and bumped into my annoying little half-sister.

  “Hey, clumsy.” She shouted.

   “Hey, clumsy.” I mimicked.

“Are you…-“She was saying, but she suddenly stopped and looked at me with wide eyes. I looked at her, ready for her outburst. “You…, you just came out of Stef’s room.” She stuttered.

“Yeah, why?” I asked, mimicking her tiny voice.

“Why were you there? No, how did you went in? No, why did he let you in?” She asked, and I chuckled.

“Because we are in a secret relationship.” I blurted, and found my way to my room. Obviously, no one dares to enter his room. But not me, because I’m Keisha, the fearless who is being threatened to transfer.
           📌Alex POV 📌
Jeremy threw a remote at me after loosing a game to Gabriel. No matter how good we are, we can never beat Gabriel in any game.

“I’m out, you guys should leave. I’ve got to complete my assignment.” I said, retuning to my bedroom.

“What’s up with him?” I heard them grumbled.
*
I laid on my bed, and they both barged into my room.

“Hey, I asked you guys to leave.”

“Split it out, man.” Gabriel said, bouncing on my bed.

“Gosh, the both of you are such a handful.”

“Are you worried about the transfer student?” Jeremy asked. He is always quick to figure things out.

“Why would he be worried about her?” Gabriel blurted.

“You are such a moron, Gabe. Don’t you sense something fishy. Alex asked us to pend your idea of reopening the black book, but out of the blues all the students started bullying her.” Jeremy said.

“So? Why is that our concern? We should be glad that we didn’t lift a finger - but  we’re getting her revenge.”

“Jeremy, confirm what’s going on.” I said, Gabriel gave me a look. I wonder why he is always so slow in reasoning things.

Jeremy contacted one of our other friend from school, and dropped the call with mouth opened agape.

“What’s up?” I asked, already alarmed.

“Someone sent out the black list signal on our behalf.” He said, and our eyes widen.

“What? But Alex asked us to pend it.” Gabriel said.

I request we pend Gabriel’s idea to reopen the back book we closed for years. When we want the whole school to turn against a student, we send out a note to everyone’s locker with the target details, and we will take responsibility for all damages. I  decide to pend it because it could take too much of our time, and I’m yet to complete my project assignment.

“Wow. Who could’ve thought someone else is fighting our battle.” Gabriel gullibly said.

“Gosh! Gabe why are you so slow? Can’t you see the implications here? Everyone at school thought we sent that out, everyone think they are fighting for us, and they will expect us to take responsibility if anything goes wrong.” Jeremy shouted.

“What’s so wrong in that?” Gabriel asked, confused.

“Someone is impersonating us, Gabe; and you think nothing is wrong in that?” Jeremy shouted.

“Guys, we’ve to end this. Someone is out there trying to pin these on us. What if something goes wrong? We won’t be able to handle the aftermath.” I said.

“What do we do?” Gabriel asked.

“I can only think of one way.” Jeremey said.

“What is it again? Are you going to suggest we become friends with her?” Gabriel blurted.

“Wow. You are quick to catch on this time, Gabe.” Jeremy said.

“Man, how will that be of help? I also want to get back at her, but I just want us to pend it for now so we can have enough time to finish that stupid project.” I said

“Buddy, now you have to choose. If you want to find out who is trying to impersonate us, this is our only choice.” Jeremy said.

“You guys are dense. Do you think it’s easy to be friends with this girl? Unlike other girls at school , she doesn’t give a darn about us, and we all know she hates our guts.” Gabriel lashed.

“You are right, Gabe. That’s why we can’t act rashly like last time.” Jeremy said.

“I’ve a bad feeling about this.” I muttered.

“Of course, you are still trauma by that drink incidence.” Gabriel teased, and I glared at him.

“You guys should leave, I need to clear my head.” I muttered, and laid flat on my bed. “Who could that motherf¥cker be?” I uproar tossing on the bed.
    📌 Keisha POV 📌
I joined the others at the dinning for breakfast the following morning. I thought I was always the last to join, but this time Mr. Headphone wasn’t there.

“Where is Mr. Head… I mean Stef?” I asked, asking no one in particular.

“Keisha, we heard you went to Stef’s room last night.” Mum said, and I glared at her. Wondering if she thought I was trying to seduce her stepson.

“So?” I blurted, before I sat down.

“What did you two discussed?” My stepfather asked, obviously delighted.

I let out a sigh trying to figure them out. It doesn’t seem like they were upset, rather they look excited. Like, he is an alien that no one can communicate with.

“This and that. Just random school stuffs.” I blurted.

“Wow. That’s interesting. I’m glad that you two are getting along.” My stepfather said, and I managed to force a smile. He is my only friend in the house, so I must avoid getting on his bad side.

“But how is that even possible? Talking to Stef?” Queen grumbled, playing with her meal.

“Queen, you are going to be late for school.” Mum said, and Queen’s face twist in a frown.

“Keisha, didn’t Stef tell you that he is going to leave early today?” My stepfather asked.

“Why should he? We don’t go to school together. Remember you got him a fancy power bike and bought a bicycle for me. Now, I’m a proud owner of a bicycle and I don’t have to beg anyone to ride me to school.” I wanted to say, but I remembered that I’m in my best behavior around him. I must avoid getting in his bad side no matter how pissed I’m. Only if mum was the one who asked the question.

“Keisha, are you ok?” Mum asked, and that was when I realized that I was moving my lips without uttering a word.

“Hun… nothing.” I muttered, my voice fading off.

“She must’ve been shocked to find out that he left early without telling her. After they had a conversation last night.” My stepfather said, and I wondered why they are bringing a big deal from our last night conversation.

“Are you sure you both had a conversation? Or you were the only one doing the talking?” Queen blurted, and I shot her a glare.
**
*
I rode to school, and parked my bike at the sparking lot. I let out a worried sigh, scared of what the students might have in stock for me today.
“A black list?” I muttered, laughing sarcastically.
*
I went to my locker to take my book still frightened by the mice I saw yesterday, but when I opened it today. I let out a sigh of relief and poured out all the garbage gathered there.

“You all should know when to stop, because if I  counterattack, you won’t be able to withstand it.” I threatened.

Although, I had nothing in mind. Had I know it will get to this, I would’ve listened to Chris and not get involved with Alex again, but no. I’m not the type to regret my actions.
*
I entered the classroom and met my seat a mess, I made a fist and dragged the seat out - wondering where I could find another seat then I sighted Alex and his disciples coming my way. I shot them a glare that took them aback.

“Keisha.” Alex called, approaching me, and I glared at him wondering if he is coming to rub it off my face.

“Keisha, I already help you retrieve tour seat.” Chris said from behind.

“Thank you.” I muttered, and gave Alex a look before following Chris back to class.
*
During recess, I went to the cafeteria ready for the worst. I’m willing to stand up against them no matter how many they are.

I entered the cafeteria, and I saw some strange stuffs on the ties; while trying to avoid them, I slipped and almost fell; but I felt a warm band held me. And everyone around gasped.

I managed to look up at my savior, and gasped to see its Alex.

“Is he trying to catch me and later let me go?”I though. But he surprised me, by carrying me in a bridal style. “What exactly is going on?” I thought, and I banged my mouth open. At that point, no word could escape my mouth.
