A novel of Dark Ties chapter 10
But Ravenna wasn't having it. She cut him off, her voice cold and menacing.
She moved closer to him, looking at him eyeballs to eyeballs.
"Stay away from her, or I'll skin you alive," she warned, her eyes glinting with a fierce protectiveness.
With a flick of her hair, Ravenna turned and walked away, leaving Eric looking frustrated and confused As he watched her go.
"Gawd, Foxin said I had to find her before tonight, and I don't even know her surname properly..." He sighed and muttered to himself.
~~~ SAMANTHA'S VILLA ~~~~~
Indigo walked into the grand villa, her heels clicking on the marble floor. She made her way to the living room, where her mom, Samantha, was sitting on a plush couch, sipping a cup of tea. Samantha looked up, surprised, as Indigo approached.
"Indigo, what are you doing here?" Samantha asked, her voice tinged with a mix of surprise and wariness.
Indigo scoffed and plopped down on the couch beside her mom.
"You're not happy to see me, mom?" she asked, her voice laced with sarcasm.
Samantha set her tea down and turned to face Indigo.
"I know you, Indi... you only visit when you need something from me," she said, her eyes narrowing slightly.
Indigo rolled her eyes and let out a dramatic sigh.
"Fine, mom. I need your help," she said, her voice dripping with reluctance.
Samantha raised an eyebrow.
"Said so. You've never visited willingly," she said, her tone dry.
Indigo huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.
"I need you to take a certain Catalina Elowen out of NC university," she said, her voice petulant.
Samantha's expression turned curious.
"What's wrong with the certain Catalina Elowen?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with interest.
Indigo's face scrunched up in distaste.
"She's a pain in the neck, mom. And can you imagine... she tied my hair to a transformer," she said, her voice rising in indignation.
Samantha's eyes widened in surprise. "What?!" she exclaimed, her voice loud and shocked.
Indigo nodded, her eyes welling up with fake tears.
"Yes, mom. Please do something about this. I'm begging you," she said, her voice trembling with manufactured emotion.
Samantha's expression softened, and she reached out to comfort Indigo.
"Oh, sweetie, I'll take care of it. Don't worry," she said, her voice soothing.
Indigo's tears miraculously disappeared, and she smiled to herself, satisfied that she had manipulated her mom into doing her bidding.
She leaned back into the couch, a triumphant glint in her eye, as Samantha pulled out her phone to make a call.
"Let's see if you'll last long in Greenville NC Catalina" She smiled evilly.
~~~~~~~ LIBRARY~~~~~~~~
Catalina sat in the library, surrounded by towering shelves of books and the quiet murmur of students studying. But she wasn't studying. She was sobbing, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She had missed her class, and the thought of facing her classmates again was too much to bear.
"Maybe this place isn't meant for me," she said to herself, feeling defeated and alone.
As she sat there, she picked up her phone and saw numerous texts and calls from Ravenna and Jaxon. Her heart swelled with gratitude as she read through their caring messages.
"Hey, girl, where are you? I've been looking everywhere for you," Ravenna's text read.
"Lina , I'm so sorry about what happened today. You don't deserve to be treated like that," Jaxon's text said.
"Hey, Catalina just wanted to check in and see if you're okay. You're not alone, we're here for you," another text from Ravenna read.
Catalina smiled weakly, feeling a little better knowing that her friends cared about her. As she stood up to leave, she marched her long hair and almost fell. But an arm caught her, steadying her and preventing her from falling.
She was surprised to see Ruslan, one of the Alpha sibling she remembered him vividly.
He was standing behind her with a concerned expression on his face.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice gentle.
Catalina nodded speechlessly, still surprised by his sudden appearance. Ruslan smiled.
"Lemme help you out with your hair." He went behind her and tied her hair properly, so she wouldn't fall again.
Catalina felt a little awkward, but also grateful for his help.
"Thanks," she said, her voice barely above a whisper and Ruslan smiled and said
"You don't have to be scared of me. I was pretty angry when we first met, that's why I acted that way." He looked at her with kind eyes, and Catalina felt a little shy.
She looked up at him, her eyes locking onto his.
"I wasn't scared," she lied, trying to sound brave and Ruslan chuckled again. Impressed by her babyish attitude.
"Don't worry, I won't bite. Unless you're hiding a sandwich in your pocket, then I might get a little hungry." He teased and Catalina couldn't help but laugh.
For a moment, she forgot about her troubles and felt a sense of ease with Ruslan. Maybe, just maybe, this place wasn't so bad after all.
Ravenna and Jaxon walked into the library, scanning the room for any sign of Catalina. They had been searching for her everywhere, and they were starting to get worried. As they turned a corner, they spotted Catalina standing with Ruslan, a smile on her face.
Ravenna's eyes widened in surprise, and she whispered to Jaxon.
"Tell me it's not what I'm thinking." She said.
Jaxon hummed, his eyes fixed on the two.
Ravenna's face scrunched up in concern, and she quickly made her way over to Catalina.
"Catalina, you're okay," she said, with an awkward smile.
Ruslan looked up at Ravenna and Jaxon, a hint of a smile on his face. But before he could say anything, Ravenna stylishly pulled Catalina away from him.
"Thanks, we'll take over from here," Jaxon said, his voice firm but polite.
As they walked out of the library with Catalina, Ravenna turned to her and asked.
"What was that?"
"Nothing serious. I wanted to fall because I marched my hair, and he helped me." Catalina explained.
Ravenna's eyes narrowed, her expression skeptical.
"Hmm... don't get too close to him, okay?"
"He doesn't seem that bad." Catalina smiled..
"Just... trust me, okay?" Ravenna's voice was firm.
~~~~~~~~~~ DOWNTOWN~~~~~~~~~
The sun was setting over the Alpha Island, casting a warm orange glow over the lush green forests and the crystal-clear waters that surrounded the island. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the sound of birds chirping, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The island was a tropical paradise, with its white sandy beaches, swaying palm trees, and vibrant coral reefs.
In the heart of the island, a beautiful villa stood, surrounded by a well-manicured garden and a private beach. The villa was the residence of the Alpha family, and it was here that Foxin's father, Peter, his stepmother, Aurora, and his grandfather, Grandpa Francisco, had gathered to discuss a matter of great importance.
The three of them sat in the living room, surrounded by comfortable couches and chairs, and a large wooden table in the center of the room. The walls were adorned with family portraits and trophies, and the floor was made of polished wooden planks. Grandpa Francisco, a wise and aged man with a kind face and a twinkle in his eye, sat in a comfortable armchair, his hands clasped together in his lap.
"The next 365 blood moon will be here anytime soon," Grandpa Francisco said, his voice low and serious.
"And Foxin needs to find his mate and fall in love and bond with her to break the curse on the blood moon." He said.
Peter, a tall and handsome man with a strong jaw and piercing blue eyes, groaned and rubbed his temples.
"And Foxin is doing nothing about it," he said, his voice laced with frustration.
Aurora, a beautiful woman with long, curly brown hair and a warm smile, looked at the two men and sighed. She had been the children's stepmother for a long time, and she knew them very well
"What happens if he doesn't find her?" she asked curiously, her eyes filled with concern.
Grandpa Francisco's face turned grave, and he leaned forward in his chair.
"He'll die," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Aurora's face twisted in shock, and she covered her mouth with her hand.
"What?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with horror.
Peter looked at his father, his eyes narrowed.
"But I didn't make him a professor for nothing," Grandpa Francisco said, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
Peter's eyes widened in confusion.
"What do you mean, Dad?" he asked, his voice filled with curiosity.
Grandpa Francisco leaned back in his chair, a faraway look in his eyes.
"The time is coming, and you'll understand why," he said, his voice low and mysterious.
~~~~~~~~ MOVIE HOUSE~~~~~~~
Ravenna, Catalina and Jaxon came to town for movie night. Ravenna insisted on it so Catalina will feel a little bit better.
The movie ended just now and they came out.
"That movie didn't end well at once" Catalina sobbed funnily and Jaxon laughed.
"Thanks to Jaxon who bought tickets for sad movies instead of a sweet romantic movie!!!!!!!!!" Ravenna yelled, crying dramatically and people looked at her.
"Quit this drama of a thing" Jaxon rolled eyes and she grabbed his collar and ear and began pulling him.
Catalina laughed and she searched for her phone but couldn't find it.
"Where did I keep it?" She asked herself and decided to go back into the cinema. She went in and luckily she saw it where she sat.
"Thank goodness. To buy a phone can get me a house now" She said and chuckled.
On her way out, something caught her attention and she began following the traces forgetting her friends.
It the trace of blood!.
She continued going until two hefty men grabbed her arm and she tried to wriggle free.
"Leave me alone!" She marched one's foot and bit another's arm and she broke free.
"Get her! She just witnessed it. If boss lady finds out we're dead"
Catalina ran madly as they chased after her .
She ran into the streets panting heavily and in the process she bumped into someone. They stumbled and the hefty men stood in front of them.
Catalina was already shaking as she looked up and her eyes met with foxin.
She immediately stood properly and faced the men holding his hand.
"You see this guy here? He's my boyfriend and if you try anything, he'll snap your neck" She said boldly and and foxin looked at her.
"Right baby" She said blinking and Foxin immediately pierced his flaming blue eyes on them and they fell and started bleeding from the mouth.
"Now run" he yelled and they fled.
"Thanks" She mumbled when they ran away.
"What are you doing out of the university" He asked and she sighed.
"I came to watch a movie with Jaxon and Ravenna when" She stopped and sniffled, closing her eyes.
"Chicken wings" She squealed.
"Chicken wings?" He asked confusedly wondering what she was saying.
She turned around and she saw where checking wings was been prepared. It's close to an ice cream cart to.
"You're a professor right....that means you're rich" She quickly pulled him to that place and he furrowed his brows.
"Sir four...no five chicken wings please" She smiled and they began preparing it for her. Some kids came forward looking shabby and tartaric and one could tell their hungry.
"Little kids are you hungry?" She asked with pity and the kids nodded.
"Sir give them chicken wings and ice cream please. All if possible" She said and the kids smiled.
"Wait whose paying?" Foxin asked with raised brows and she smirked.
They man prepared her own chicken wings and she collected it with an ice cream,then she smiled.
"You see this guy over her? Hold him cus he's my P. O. S " She said and before our dear Foxin could process what was happening, she began walking away sassily.
The funniest thing is that he's not with his wallet!!!!.
