Amara
Her Destiny
Amara
I sat on the living room couch, am so tired. Today was hectic at work, my first time to work in the human world. Who knew princess of Amelia would some day work under someone. A human to be precise.
I guess am home before Tricia, thank goodness we both have spare keys.
Memories of what happened today flashed to me. Mathia is so heartless, how does she sleep at night? She killed an innocent being. I wonder what the lady did to her.
I closed my eyes and breathe in......then I saw Maurice before the scene. She was in the restroom facing the mirror, her heart skipped with fear when she sights someone a little bit far from her in the mirror. The person appeared from nowhere, she was backing Maurice. Mathia turned swiftly and killed her by blowing air to her face, a spell that destroys one's body system in just a minute.
"So that was what happened." I mumbled. I opened my eyes slowly and almost jumped up, frightened when I saw Tricia standing in front of me with her left arm on her waist.
"When did you arrive?." I forced myself to speak. She gawks at me with a nod.
"You were murmuring something. Are you sure you're okay?." She asks not answering my question.
"Nothing. Am fine." I lied.
She sits on the couch opposite me. "Who's Mathia?." She ask out of the blue moon. What the hell!? Did I utter out everything I saw?.
I scratched my head nervously and voiced out. "Uh?."
"You were mentioning her name with your eyes closed." She replies plainly.
"Ok...how long have you been standing in front of me?."
"Long enough to hear you keep uttering the name 'Mathia'." She air quotes with a shrug.
"Uhm.. She's my colleague at work."
"Oh."
"Yeah. She's the lady who got employed as the secretary." I explained getting my shoes off. My feet are kinda swollen.
"Oh yeah... Am sorry about that." She apologized as she stood up with two bags of groceries. I just noticed she is holding that.
"Its fine."
"Am making dinner. I'll be back." She tells moving towards the kitchen.
I let out a sigh. Gosh that was close, good thing she only heard me saying Mathia. But I had no idea I said the devil's name. Yeah she's a devil alright.
I carried the shoes with my handbag, walking towards my room with bare feet.
I took a nice cold bath after pulling off my clothes, dried myself with my pink towel and wore a black bum shorts with a white tank top. Park up my long hair in pony tail, put in my slippers and head to the kitchen.
I sight Tricia shredding some cabbage. "Hey."
"Oh hi." She faced me and concentrated on what she's doing.
"Can I help?." I asked.
"Sure. Help me with the tomatoes would ya."
"Kk." I said and moved to where the tomatoes are kept.
She chuckled softly and face me. "You're doing it wrong."
"What?."
"The tomatoes. You use a knife to slice tomatoe not your hands silly!." She mocked.
I scratched my hair in a funny way as she giggled. "Oh..."
"Yeah. Now look." She brings out a knife from the cupboard and began slicing the tomatoe on the wooden chopping board.
Gosh, I have so much to learn about cooking. I haven't cooked before because am a princess, I have maids to do that for me.
"Now that's how you slice a tomato. Ok?."
"Ok."
She nods with a smile. I payed full attention as she continues cooking. Her arm mistakenly hit a glass mug, it wanted to fall to the floor but I stopped it with magic as it floats in the air. Good thing She's backing me.
Tricia
It's so funny Amara can't slice a tomatoe. I had to teach her every steps I used in cooking. I accidentally hit a mug, I turned to grab it before it falls but something bizarre happened.
"Whoa.." I half yell. Her eyes widens in surprise, the mug fell to the floor as it broke to pieces. She stares at me trying to say something.
"Amara...the mug was in the air." I shrieked.
"What?." She squinch and continues. "What are you talking about? It's on the floor, broken." She stammers.
"But... you....stretched forth your hand.......like you were controlling the mug to float in air." I said.
I touched my head, I think it aches.
She kept mute for a while as I stare at her waiting for a response. She shakes her head sideways with a loud sigh. "You are right. I was controlling the mug." She says.
"What!? How?." I inquired. Am loosing it, how is that possible anyways?.
She sigh again. "Can we sit? It's a long story." I nod because I really wanna know how that happened. Its bizarre right?.
We both left the kitchen to the living room and sat on the couch.
"Now tell me." I said impatiently.
She breathe in and speaks. "Ok uhm. First am Amara Pikana and am a witch." I stared at her in a funny way and burst into laughter.
"Believe me Tricia." She speaks with a serious look.
"Witches do not exist Amara. What the heck do you mean!?."
"They do exist so as magic. Am from a kingdom named Amelia. A place far different from here , so...."
I interrupt with my eyes widened. "You mean to tell me this isn't a joke?."
"Yeah." She replies with a nod.
Amara
I had no choice but to tell her everything. She has to know anyways, because I was planning to let her know someday.
I narrated everything; about the amulet, getting married to Collins and Mathia's evil intentions. She is shocked, I hope she isn't mad at me.
She clears her throat. "Let me get this straight. You're a princess and your kingdom is ruled only by women?."
"Exactly. Am sorry I didn't tell you all these until now. I ......" She hugs me unexpectedly.
"Its fine. You had your reasons." She mutters low in between the hug.
"Thank you." I said as we withdrew.
"So.....can you show me any magic stuff?...
"Please...." She coo softly.
"Ok." I giggled. My eyes turns blue as the TV screen tune on itself.
"Whoa!! That was awesome." She exclaimed like a teenage girl.
"Another magic trick. Please..."
Ah jeez🤦. Its gonna be a long night....
