A novel of salvage high chapter 29
Jeremy’s POV
I was overwhelmed by how they accepted me without batting an eye, I have known them for over a decade, but it felt like I never knew them at all. Mum was right, we indeed shared a bond.
We had fun till its recess, and Gabriel won’t stop asking questions about my mother, and also hints on my father. I avoid talking about my mum being abused, because it was really painful and embarrassing to say, but considering how persistent he was, I finally split it, and Alex warned him against asking further questions.
“Gabriel is a scaredy-cat, you should have seen how scared he was when he discovered that your uncle is a mafia boss.” Alex teased, and Gabriel glared at him.
“Come off it, man I wasn’t scared.” Gabriel defended.
“At this rate, you should go date a man.” I teased, and they all laughed expect Gabriel who Gabriel at me.
“That’s not me, you know I love women a lot.”
“Yeah, and I believe 99.99% of the whole school knows.” Melanie teased.
“Yay! Melanie not you too.” He shouted, and we all laughed.
I wasn’t expecting everything to return to normal so easily, but I was glad. Glad to have my friends back, and I don’t have to be uptight whenever I’m around them. I would have never imagined having such great friends. We might all have our shortcomings, but our flaws aren’t a barrier to our friendship.

📌 Keisha’s POV📌
•
Alex and his friends came to class after recess, and I was glad to see that they are bad in terms. It seems whatever trick Melanie pulled really worked.
When school dismissed, I went out to the parking lot and felt someone embraced me from behind. I let out a sigh thinking it’s Alex, but u turned around to see Jeremy.
“Jeremy.” I called, and he chuckled.
“Did I startle you?” He teased.
“I thought it was Alex.”
“That’s an insult. I smell more nice.” He said, and I chuckled.
“I’m glad to see that you made up with your friends.”
“They weren’t asking for too much, they just wanted me to be honest.”
“So did you tell them everything?” I asked, with wide eyes. Wondering how they will react to him having a sugar mummy
“Absolutely.”
“Wow. How did they react to your sugar mummy?” I blurted, and he looked at me. “No, I mean how did they react when you told them about your sugar mummy?” I asked, and he chuckled.
“I like you, Keisha.” He said, startling me, I never saw that coming.
“You what?” I shouted.
“I like you, and I see why Alex liked you too. If Alex hasn’t made a move, I would have considered dating you despite having a girlfriend.” He said, and winked.
“What are you saying all of a sudden?”
“Do you know why I like you?”
“What?”
“Because you are too nosy, and you always use your brain to analyze things instead of asking questions. You are a busybody.” He said, and ran off.
“Hey! How dare you insult me?” I shouted running after him, but I felt someone drag me back. “Let me go,” I shouted, and turns to see its Alex.
“Why are you being so friendly with Jeremy and mean with me?” He whined.
“Because you are always like this, complaining about everything. Don’t tell me you are jealous of Jeremy as well.”
“I’m jealous of any man that isn’t your me.” He said, and held my hand.
“Let me go, I’ve to go home. Stef is waiting.”
“Let me walk you to him.” He said, and I gave him a weird look.
We went round Stef looking, and he gave us a confused look.
“Bro, I promise to bring her home safely.” Alex said, and I looked at him.
“What are you saying?” I blurted.
“I just asked for permission, so hang out with me.”
“What? Who says u need Stef permission to go out? And I can’t hang out with you, I’ve assignments to work on.”
“That can wait.” He said, and dragged me away.
“Let me go,” I shouted, and forcefully freed myself.
“A lot of things have been happening, Keisha, and I really need to clear my head.”
“That why you have your friends.”
“I’m always with them, while you are always with others. This isn’t fair.”
I let out a sigh, and looked at Stef who rode away.
“Where on earth can we go in our uniform?” I complained, and he smiled.
“Then follow my leads.” He said, winking at me.
He lead me to his car and opened the door for me. He made some calls o our way to wherever he told his driver, and we pulled over at a mall.
“Welcome sir, welcome ma’am.” The staffs gathered to welcome us, and I bowed slightly, while Alex held my hands leading me in.
I tried out so navy clothes before settling for few. I really compliment their hospitality, but too bad there is no mother customer besides us.
We left the mall after we changed our outfits, and went to the salon to make our hair. Just like in the mall, we were warmly welcomed and happened to be the only customers as well.
After making our hair, we went to have lunch together, and later went to an amusement park. Only to meet it empty.
“Wow. I never knew an amusement park could be empty.” I said, and he chuckled.
“Isn’t it a blessing? We have the place to ourselves.” He said, and I nodded. Although I love it when it’s crowded, it’s more fun to me.
We rode on different ride together till it’s late, and we went to the pool side to call it a day.
“Wow. I can’t believe we stayed out this long.” I exclaimed.
“Yeah. They say time flies when you are having fun with the right person.” He muttered, and I looked at him.
“Talking like this is your first time out.” I said, and looked away.
“First time out, no. But first time out alone with a girl, yes.” He said, and I looked at him.
“You never had a girlfriend? You want me to believe that?”
“It’s hard to believe. I should have a long list of girls I had history with, but I don’t. I was scared of rejection.”
“Why would you be? Anyone would gladly want to be your girl, anyone expect me tho.”
“Why are you an exemption?”
“Come on, Alex. You haven’t answered my questions.”
“You already did. The first time I took that bold step was when I was fifteen. I was young, and I thought I knew the meaning of love. But too bad, that girl was also an exemption and she rejected me. I was hurt, u felt heartbroken. I’m not a saint, but I knew that the feeling I had was genuine. Afterwards, I couldn’t find ghat courage again. I feared rejection so I never developed feelings again. But I guess I was wrong, it’s because I didn’t meet the right person, you changed it all, Keisha.”
“Did you love Melanie that much?” I asked, and he almost choked on his saliva.
“What? Who mentioned Melanie now?”
“She was the one who rejected you. Your first love.”
“She isn’t my first love. How did you know it was Melanie?”
“Ella told me.”
“What? Ella? That big mouth. How much did she tell you?
“As much as she knew. You guys talk a lot to her face.”
“She is just like her brother, I should’ve known better.”
“Why did Melanie rejected you? The look on her face tells that she likes you.”
“Like a friend. The same way she likes Gabriel and Jeremy.” He replied, but I doubt.
“What if she change her mind in the future?”
“I don’t feel the same anymore. Thinking about it now, I just realized that those feelings aren’t really love. I simply like having her around like a friend, and I was too young back then, so I misinterpreted as love. You are the one I love, Keisha so please, take your time before rejecting me.” He said, staring directly at me.
I managed to look away, and my gaze fell on his lips. I didn’t know what came over me, and I found myself kissing him.
Yeah, he was the first. The first guy I kissed first passionately. I wasn’t a born saint, I have dated quite a number of boys, but whenever I kiss first, it’s to stop them from talking. But the case with Alex was different.
“What are you doing to me, Alex?” I thought, as we kissed passionately.

📌 Alex’s POV📌
•
I went home after I drop off Keisha. Today was one of my best day so far, first I made up with my best friend, and reform our friendship circle, and I have confidence that Keisha will be mine.
I went to my room beeping with happiness, but I was taken aback to see Melanie in my room.
“Hi, boo. You are back.” She said, and came to embrace me.
“What are you doing here?”
“Is it bad to visit my friend.”
“Waiting alone inside my room, without informing me, is quite a surprise .”I said, trying not to sound rude.
“I like your honesty. I apologize for intruding. But I had no choice. My uncle insist I accompany him here.”
“Your uncle? Is my dad back?”
“Are you asking me that? You must have been out the whole day, and probably blind not to notice the parking lot. My uncle is with your father in the garden. The old men are having fun.”
“I see.” I muttered.
A message beeped into my phone from Keisha, and I smiled before reading it.
“Is that Keisha?” Melanie asked, and I looked at her.
“Yeah, why?”
“Are you really serious about her?”
“Melanie, I already told you before. So I won’t answer that again.”
“Even alter you are aware that I rejected you for a reason?” She asked, and I let out a sigh.
“I believe everything happens for a reason. Rejecting me made me realize that what I felt for you wasn’t love. I was just too young to understand it back then.”
“Wow. You are now confused about your feelings? Is that how much you like Keisha? Or now determined you are to win the date?” She asked, startling me
“Hoooowwww…-“. I shuddered
“I have my ways, Alex so let’s be honest when next we have this conversation. I’m willing to reconsider.”
“Was it Gabriel?” I asked, my face twisted in furry. There is no one else I could suspect than him, his big mouth always have the best of him.
“See you later, boo.” She said, and blew me a kiss before leaving.
