Anovel of My motherś ex chapter 19 by authoress
Julian paced nervously in the hospital corridor. His thoughts raced, clouded with fear for Rylee’s condition. When the doctor approached him, clipboard in hand, Julian’s heart sank.
“How are you related to Miss Hayes?” the doctor asked, his expression serious.
Before Julian could respond, Sophia spoke up. “He’s her father,” she said quickly, her voice steady despite the situation.
Julian froze, but Sophia gave him a subtle nod, silently urging him to go along with it.
“Yes,” Julian said, clearing his throat. “I’m her father.”
The doctor studied him for a moment before nodding. “Good. We need your authorization to proceed with treatment. The chemotherapy and surgery are expensive, but necessary.”
Without hesitation, Julian agreed. “Do whatever it takes. I’ll cover all the costs.”
Hours later, Julian found himself in the hospital’s waiting area. The surgery was underway, and all he could do was pray that Rylee would recover. He leaned back, his hands clasped tightly, silently pleading with the universe for her life.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a familiar figure entering the hospital lobby. His chest tightened.
Victoria.
She walked in with her usual grace, but there was an edge to her movements. Her eyes met his, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze.
⏰Flashback: ⏰February 21, 1996⏰
It had been a week since Julian was released from prison. The days had been long, filled with regret and uncertainty. But on that fateful evening, a knock on his bedroom window startled him.
He opened it to find Victoria climbing in, tears streaming down her face.
“Victoria?” he whispered, shocked.
She collapsed into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably. “Julian, I’m so sorry. I made a terrible mistake. I’ll fix it—I’ll do whatever it takes. I’ll abort the baby. I’ll never see Daniel again. Just… forgive me, please.”
Her desperation broke his heart. Julian pulled her closer, stroking her hair gently.
“I don’t want you to hurt yourself,” he said softly. “We’ll figure this out. Together.”
The next day, they went to see a gynecologist, hoping to terminate the pregnancy. But after the examination, the doctor delivered the news that the pregnancy was too far along.
“It’s too late,” the gynecologist said.
Victoria’s face crumpled, but Julian stood firm. He wrapped his arms around her, his voice steady. “It’s going to be okay. I’ll be here for you. For both of you. I love you, Victoria. Nothing will change that.”
Tears filled her eyes as she clung to him, and they shared a kiss—full of passion and promises of a future neither of them could predict.
Then he squeezed her breast firmly.
“Ouuu…..my boobs are very sensitive now” Victoria smiled.
“It’s fine Tori” Julian smiled.
⏰Back to the Present
Victoria approached Julian in the hospital corridor, her heels clicking against the tiled floor. She stopped inches away from him, her presence commanding yet unnerving.
“Victoria,” he said, his voice tight. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to see my daughter,” she replied smoothly, her gaze unwavering. “And I brought the press.”
Julian’s eyes narrowed. “This is not the time for theatrics. She’s fighting for her life. The last thing your daughter needs is a media circus.”
Victoria scoffed. “The public deserves to know about her condition. Besides, I’m her mother. I have every right to be here.”
“Then act like a mother,” Julian snapped, his patience wearing thin. “Leave the cameras out of this.”
“Why do you care? You don’t know her” Victoria snapped.
marching into the hospital room with the press trailing behind her.
***********
Victoria’s face softened as she approached Rylee’s bedside.
She made sure the camera was on her face and she hugged her daughter, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Oh, my poor baby,” she said, her voice quivering.
Rylee, too weak to push her away, whispered hoarsely, “Go… away.”
Sophia, who had been sitting by Rylee’s side, stood abruptly. She glared at Victoria, her anger boiling over.
“How dare you show up here?” Sophia spat.
“You abandoned her. You left her to fend for herself for days And now you want to play the grieving mother in front of the cameras? Shame on you.”
Victoria’s tears faltered, but she quickly composed herself, turning to the cameras with a forced expression of sorrow.
“Rylee was right to disgrace you! You are are really shameless and disgusting” Sophia said and walked out for fresh air.
😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😔
Unbeknownst to everyone, Julian quietly took care of the hospital bills, ensuring that Rylee received the best possible care. Weeks passed, and slowly, Rylee began to recover.
One evening, Julian returned home, exhausted from the day’s events. As he opened the door to his living room, he froze.
Rylee was sitting on his sofa, her face pale but her eyes bright with emotion.
“Rylee?” he said, startled.
The moment she saw him, she rose and ran into his arms, hugging him tightly.
“Thank you,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “For everything.”
Julian stood there, holding her close, his heart heavy with emotions he couldn’t yet name.
