 A novel of passion's flame chapter 40

ALEXANDER POV

I gripped my phone tightly, my eyes fixed on the screen as I watched the video August had sent me. My heart sank, and my blood boiled with rage as I saw Nora, helpless and scared, tied to a bed.

He was enjoying hurting the woman I loved. My eyes went wide in fear as I saw the knife in August's hand, tracing Nora's skin, leaving a trail of blood behind.

My vision blurred, and my ears rang with anger. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. All I could do was feel the rage and fear coursing through my veins.

I roared, my voice echoing through the car as I slammed my fist on the steering wheel. "AUGUST! YOU'RE DEAD! YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD!"

I was shaking, my body trembling with fury. I couldn't think straight. I couldn't drive. I had to get to Nora. I had to save her.

I couldn't wait for Jason and his team anymore, I had to go there.

My heart was pounding in my chest, as the video replayed in my head again and Again. I gripped the steering wheel tightly,My mind racing with thoughts of how I was going to kill August.

I quickly dialed Jason's number, my heart still racing. "I'm heading there right now, I cannot wait anymore"

"Mr Knights, wait! We need to  come up with a plan. We can't just rush in there without knowing what we're up against."

I clenched my jaw, Knowing he was right but my daughter and my woman were in danger. I can't just sit and wait for him to come up with a plan.

"I don't have time to wait, Jason. I have to get to Nora now. I'll take care of August myself."

"Alexander, don't do this. You're going to put yourself and Nora in danger."Jason said firmly.

I cut him off, my mind already made up. "I'm not waiting, Jason. I'm heading there now. You can either meet me there with your team or stay behind. It's up to you."

With that, I hung up the phone and drove even faster. Stay Strong Nora, I'm coming.

I sped through the streets, my heart racing with fear. I had to get to Nora before he hurts her even more. I don't care about the danger, All I cared about was getting Nora and my daughter back.

I was going to kill August, was going to make him pay for what he had done to Nora. I could feel my hands tightening around the steering wheel, my knuckles turning white in anger.

I finally arrived at the location, staring at the building in front of me

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I had to think clearly, had to come up with a plan. I couldn't just barge in there without knowing what he was up to.

As I reached the entrance, I slowly walked in, my eyes staring around. I stepped forward, my footsteps silent on the floor but then I suddenly heard a sound of someone approaching.

I stopped, slowly turning around and then I saw him, August,My brother I hadn't seen in years.

He looked almost exactly like me and I hated it. I hated that we looked alike,That he was my blood, That he was my brother,My little brother.

"Hello Brother"August said, A sly smile spreading across his face.

I clenched my fists, My eyes narrowing at him. How dare a call me brother? After everything he had done to me and my family.

I took a step forward, My fists still clenched at my sides. "You're no brother of mine"I snarled,my voice low and menacing.

His smile grew more wider. "Oh but I am,We share the same blood,The same Dna. We were family but not until you sent me to that horrible place, You ruined my Life Alexander!"He growled.

I felt a surge of anger and took a step forward, my eyes locked on August's. "I didn't ruin your life, August," I snarled. "You ruined your life with your own dirty hands. All I did was send the bastard to jail that killed my sister."

I took another step forward, my voice rising. "Were you expecting me to keep quiet, huh? After you've killed her? Were you expecting me to fucking clap for you and tell you to carry on, huh?" I yelled, my anger boiling over.

August's face was filled with rage, his eyes bulging with fury. "You were supposed to protect me!" he yelled, his voice echoing through the room. "You were supposed to be my brother, my family!"

I laughed, out loudly. "Protect you?" I said, my voice filled with disgust. "You killed our sister, August. You're a monster. Why would I protect you?"

I shook my head opening my mouth to speak again, my disgust and anger growing by the second. "You forfeited any right to family when you killed our sister," I spat. "You're nothing to me, August. Nothing but a monster who deserves to rot in hell."

August's face twisted with rage, his eyes flashing with hatred. "You'll pay for what you did to me, Alexander," he snarled. "You'll pay dearly."

I sneered at him. "I'm not afraid of you, August," I said, coldly."You're nothing but a coward,Now where's my daughter and my woman"

I wasn't able to save my sister's life and now I felt sad and helpless for not being able to protect Nora and Lily also,I felt guilty for not being able to stop August sooner,For not being able to stop all the pains and suffering he had caused. I felt like I had failed, like I had let everyone down.

August smile spread wider. "You'll have to pass through me first brother"

Just as I was about to punch August, two men suddenly appeared out of nowhere, holding Nora tightly between them.

My heart sank as I took in her condition. Her beautiful skin was marred by bruises and cuts, her skin was pale.

There were marks on her wrists and ankles, evidence of the ropes that had bound her. Blood trickled from a gash on her forehead, and her eyelids were half-closed, her body almost lifeless.

"A... Alexander..." Nora whispered faintly, her voice sounding so weak.

My vision blurred with fury. I saw red, and without thinking, I launched myself at the two men holding Nora wanting to get her away from them.

"LET HER GO!"I yelled,my voice echoing through the room but they didn't and when I heard a little sound of pain from Nora,I punched August in the face.

I'd make him scream out in pain just like he did to my Nora.

August's head snapped back, his eyes widening in shock and pain but I didn't stop to pity him. I punched him again, sending him stumbling backwards but I didn't stop,I continued punching him again and again until he was on the ground groaning in pain.

The two goons holding Nora loosened their grip and i quickly grabbed Nora from them, pulling her into my arms. She was limp and lifeless, but I could feel her faint pulse. I held her trembling body close to me.

I ignored August, focusing on Nora. "Baby, can you hear me?" I whispered, my voice, cupping her face. "I'm here, Nora. I've got you."

Nora's eyes flickered opened."L... Lily," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

My heart skipped a beat. Where was Lily? I looked around the room, but there was no sign of Lily.

I turned back to Nora, holding her closer "Don't worry, baby. I'll find Lily""

August groaned on the ground, trying to get up. I glared at him, my anger boiling over. "You're not going anywhere," I snarled, kicking him in the stomach.

August doubled over, gasping in pain.

I pulled him up, grabbing him by the collar. "You're going to tell me where my daughter is," I snarled, punching him again. His teeth were bleeding, and he winced in pain.

"Where's my daughter?" I demanded, my voice low and menacing.

August started laughing, and I punched him again. "WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER!" I roared, slamming his head against the wall.

He winced, but the grin never left his face. "If anything happens to my daughter, mark my words, I'll fucking burn you alive," I spat.

August shrugged, his face and mouth bloody. "Your daughter will be dead in five minutes," he said, laughing out loud.

My heart skipped a beat as I heard his words. "Where's she?" I asked, my teeth gritted in anger.

August just grinned again, and it made me even more furious.

I felt my anger reach a boiling point, and I knew I had to keep myself under control. I took a deep breath and grabbed August by the collar, pulling him up to face me.

"Listen to me, August," I snarled. "You have two options. You can either tell me where my daughter is, or you can suffer the consequences. The choice is yours."

His expression hardened, and he spat in my face.

"I'll never tell you," he sneered.

I suddenly heard the sound of sirens outside. Jason and his team had arrived.

I turned to August, a smirk on my face.

August's eyes widened in fear as he heard the sound of footsteps and shouting outside. He knew he was surrounded.

Jason burst into the room, his gun drawn. "Mr Knights, step back!" he shouted.

But I didn't let go of August. I still had him pinned against the wall, my eyes blazing with fury. "Where's my daughter?" I demanded.

August's eyes darted back and forth, but he didn't answer. Jason approached me, his gun still pointed to August.

"Alexander, let us handle this," Jason said calmly. "We need to get Nora to a hospital."

I nodded, finally releasing August. Jason's team moved in, handcuffing August and his goons.

As I turned to follow Jason, I saw Nora being carried out on a stretcher. "She's going to be okay," Jason said, putting a hand on my shoulder.

I nodded, my eyes locked on his. "But I need to find Lily now," I said, my voice firm.

Just as Jason was about to respond, I heard a faint cry. "Daddy!"

My heart skipped a beat as I turned around slowly, my eyes scanning the area. And then I saw her. Lily. My little girl.

But she wasn't alone. Tricia was holding her tightly, a gun pointed directly at Lily's head.

I was shocked, my mind filled with fear and disgust. Tricia. The woman I was supposed to marry.

I had only agreed to marry her because of Lily. My mother had wanted me to settle down, to give Lily a stable family. And Tricia  seemed like the perfect candidate, She was my mother's choice. But now, I realized that I had made a terrible mistake.

I made a huge mistake by Agreeing to marry this Woman.

My eyes were fixed on Tricia, my brain struggling to comprehend what I was seeing. How could she do this?

"Lily," I whispered, my voice shaking.

Tricia's eyes locked on mine, Her face expressionless. "Let August go," she spat, "or else I'll pull this trigger right now, Alexander."

My heart sank, my mind is spinning. I feel like I'm going to pass out,The terrified look on Lily's face is killing me. She's so scared, so helpless. I can see the fear in her eyes, and it's tearing me apart.

"Jason, Uncuff that bastard right now," I growled, my eyes fixed on August.

Jason hesitated for a moment, then nodded and moved to uncuff August.

As soon as August was free, Tricia's grip on Lily tightened and I frowned. "Let her go Tricia or you'd regret it"

August's eyes were filled with rage as he pointed the gun at Lily. "1, 2, 3..." he taunted, his finger tightening on the trigger.

I saw red. Without hesitation, I rushed towards them and snatched the gun from August's hand. In one swift motion, I turned the gun on Tricia and pulled the trigger. She crumpled to the ground, crying out in pain.

Lily screamed, her eyes shutting tight in fear. My gaze softened, and I felt a pang of sorrow. "Take my daughter away from here," I told Jason.

But Jason shook his head. "I can't leave you alone here, Mr. Knights."

I growled, my patience running out "No. I'll finish this myself. Get Lily out of here."

As soon as they left, I turned my attention back to August. I pulled the trigger, shooting him in the right leg. He groaned, falling to the ground.

I pulled his hair into my fists, forcing him to look at me. "That was for making Mama cry all those years ago."

Without thinking, I shot his other leg. He screamed out in pain. "That's for touching my princess with your filthy hands."

I pulled the trigger again, hitting his shoulder. He was crying now, breathing heavily. He was close to dying.

"That's for touching my Nora."

August's eyes locked onto mine, filled with fear and pleading. "B... brother..."

I shot him in the head, and he gasped, falling to the floor. His eyes closed, and I knew he was gone.

I whispered against his ear, "And that's for killing my sister."

I stood up, my eyes fixed on Tricia, who was still crying and wailing in pain on the ground. I gazed at her hand, which was bleeding profusely from the gunshot, and I grinned widely.

I pulled her up, forcing her to look at me. "I won't kill you, Tricia. You'll rot and suffer in jail."

Her eyes widened, and she shook her head, sobbing profusely. "N... no, p... please Alexander, I... I'm your fiancée, p... please forgive me, I... I'm sorry, A... August m... made m... me..."

I cut her off coldly. "Our engagement is off. Nora is the one I want to be with. I love her. She's my woman, my everything, my future."

Without waiting for her response, I called the police to come take her away. I pulled August's body away from her and carried him back to the warehouse. Then, I set it on fire.

As I watched the flames engulf the warehouse, I felt nothing. I killed my brother and I had no regrets,He deserved it. August was dead, and Tricia would rot in jail.

I turned and walked away, heading towards my car.

My family was safe. That's all that mattered.
