A novel of Dangerously yours chapter 29

Isobel didn't wait to hear more. She turned and ran, dashing out of the house and into the cool evening air. She didn't stop until she was halfway down the block, her feet pounding the pavement in a Fast  rhythm.

As she ran, she fumbled for her phone, her fingers shaking as she scrolled through her contacts. She stopped at Asher's name, her thumb hovering over the call button. She needed him, needed his calm and gentle voice to soothe her frazzled nerves.

But as she called, the phone rang and rang, going straight to voicemail. Isobel's heart sank, and she felt a fresh wave of tears wash over her. Why wasn't Asher answering? Didn't he know she needed him?

She tried calling again, but the result was the same. Asher wasn't picking up, and Isobel was left feeling desperate and alone.

As she stood there, tears streaming down her face, she thought of another person she could call. Someone who had always been there for her, no matter what. Caspian.

Isobel's fingers moved to Caspian's name, and she hesitated for a moment before hitting the call button. The phone rang, and she closed her eyes, praying that he would answer.

Please, Caspian, pick up.

The line connected, and Isobel's eyes snapped open as she heard Caspian's deep, smooth voice on the other end.

"Hey, Izzy. What's wrong?" he asked, his tone instantly alert and concerned.

Isobel's voice broke as she tried to speak, the words tumbling out in a sobbing mess. "C-Caspian...I need you please.. I want to go away from home..."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, Isobel wondered if she had lost the connection. But then Caspian's voice came back, low and gentle.

"I'm on my way, Izzy. Just stay where you are, okay? I'll be there soon." He said and she sniffled.

∞∞∞∞° Iris house ∞≠∞∞∞∞∞

Iris came down from the taxi and paid the driver. She's just coming back from a part time job. She looks exhausted as she opened the door.

She didn't find her mom inside and she rolled eyes.

' why should I even care about her when she put me in a lot of mess ' She thought inwardly and failed to notice Ken in the room.

She screamed out when she saw him. And he stood up and went to her.

Ken's grip on Iris's wrist was unyielding as he dragged her through the hallway and into her bedroom. The door slammed shut behind them, and Ken spun Iris around, his eyes blazing with a mix of anger and concern.

Iris tried to wriggle free, but Ken's hold was too strong. He pinned her against the door, his body pressed against hers, his face inches from hers.

"What are you doing, how did you know my house?" She struggled to break free from him.

"What were you doing with them, Iris?" Ken demanded, his voice low and intense.

Iris's eyes flashed with defiance, but Ken could see the fear lurking beneath the surface.

"I told you, Ken, I was just talking to them," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She said and Ken's eyes narrowed.

"Don't lie to me, Iris. I saw the way they were looking at you, as if you owe them or something.

Iris's gaze dropped, and Ken's grip on her wrist tightened.

"Look at me, Iris," he said, his voice firm.

Iris's eyes snapped back to his, and Ken could see the tears welling up in them.

"I wasn't doing anything wrong, Ken," she said, her voice cracking.

Ken's face was inches from hers, his breath mingling with hers.

"Don't play games with me, Iris. I know what the Bulldog Gang is capable of. They're not people you want to get involved with."

"Why are you suddenly nice, and what were you doing there too? They seem to know you really well"

Iris's eyes flashed with anger, and she tried to push Ken away. But he was too strong, and he held her in place.

"I can take care of myself, Ken," she said, her voice trembling.

Ken's eyes searched hers, looking for any sign of deception. But all he saw was fear and uncertainty.

"I'm trying to protect you, Iris," he said, his voice softening.

Iris's gaze dropped, and Ken could see the tears spilling down her cheeks. He felt a pang of guilt for pushing her so hard, but he knew he had to get to the truth.

"Why are you crying, Iris?" Ken asked, his voice gentle.

Iris's eyes snapped back to his, and Ken could see the desperation in them. "Because I'm scared, Ken," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ken's grip on her wrist loosened, and he pulled her into a gentle hug.

"I won't let anything happen to you, Iris, just tell me" he said, his voice filled with conviction.

"But you have to tell me the truth. What are you doing with the Bulldog Gang?" He asked and she sniffled.

Iris's body trembled in his arms, and Ken could feel her tears soaking into his shirt. He held her close, waiting for her to open up to him, to trust him with her secrets.

"I need to pay my mother's debt or they'll kill us" She hiccuped.

"Huh?"

"My mom owe them alot of money and I need to pay up"

"I'll do that, I'll handle it don't worry" he said and she hugged him tightly.

********* CREST COLLEGE*********

It's a new week and everyone is in school with their vibes and so on.

Isobel just came out of class and she didn't see Asher. Caspian has been by her side since he picked up last week and she was really grateful.

"Isobel! Where did you go? I was worried for two days straight" Tanya ran to her..

"Am fine Anya! Don't worry about me" She said. She's not even smiling as she talked.

"Are you sure, can't you talk things out with your..."

"Please" She cut her short and walked away and Tanya sighed, going to look for Vince.

Isobel has been walking for hours looking for Asher when someone pulled her into the school ABANDONED store.

It was the figure clouded in black she always saw.

"You're— the ... One ... Who pushed me" She said with widened eyes.

"Stay away from Asher. Last warning" the figure said.

The person's face is not visible,so she can't see it.

The person pushed her and she fell hurting her head in the process.

The figure went out and locked the door and fire developed from something the person threw from under the door.

"Fir.. fire" Isobel tried screaming, but she couldn't. Her head was spinning.

"Asher" She muttered before starting to pass out.

"Fire! There's fire coming from the store room" A student yelled but it was too late, fire already covered half of the store room.
