10 PM NORA'S APARTMENT.
Home,Sweet home.
Silence and Darkness welcomed me as I opened the door entrance to my apartment.
I hate coming home at times cuz all I ever got was silence and Darkness. Why is this always happening to me?
Sometime I often wonder what it felt like to have a family...A home I would come running to daily.
Just before I was about to walk into my apartment,I noticed an envelope laying on the end of the flowers vase behind the door.
My heart skipped a bit hoping it's not what I think that is written in the envelope.
Oh God, I hope it's not about the rent payment.
I opened it carefully and read the contents in it with a hopeful heart.
Dear Miss Nora.
This letter is to inform you that your rent payment is due and you're expected to pay before the end of the week.
Good luck.
I bit my lips hard in disappointment and placed the envelope in my purse.
Virgin Mary, I need you right now.
I sighed tiredly and locked the door behind me and turned on the lights.
I had a quick shower and layed on my bed drifting off to sleep.

"Get out of here bitch,Hurry up with the drinks"He screamed at me.
His breath had become overpowered by the stench of alcohol, causing me to hold my breath.
"Am sorry"I whimpered.
A scream escaped my lips as he threw the bottle of whiskey on the wall just a little too close to me.
"Am sorry"I apologized again, Swallowing my tears threatening to spill out of my eyes and bent down to pick the broken glasses.
I stared to pick them one by one with my bare hands as tears streamed down my face.
"What are you waiting for whore,Get me another glass"He screamed again hitting me with his dirty leg of his and...
I jolt awake,My heart racing as my eyes took seconds to adjust to the darkness.
I hurriedly turned on the lights and got off the bed checking my phone for the time.
1:14Am.
I exhaled and walked into the kitchen to have a glass of water and still couldn't stop thinking about my nightmare.
1,2,3. Breath Nora, You're safe. He can't find you.
I hope he doesn't but deep within me I knew he would stop at nothing to find me.
I kept convincing myself as I started to fall asleep again.

ALEXANDER KNIGHTS P.O.V
OFFICE. LOS ANGELES, NEW YORK CITY.
I was in a foul mood upon my arrival in the company, My icy demeanor leaving my staffs quaking in their boots.
People avoided making direct contact, which suited me fine.
"Good Morning sir"They all greeted in chorus and I gave them a curt nod and got into the elevator with my secretary Dimitri holding an iPad on his hand.
"Sir you have a meeting with the shareholders in three hours"Dimitri informed me.
I nodded as we made our way towards my office.
"Get me a cup of black coffee"I said and walked into the my office.
I sat on my office chair and went through the files on my desk.
Work had always been able to take my mind off life and other problems in life.
I was going through plans and reports to expand my businesses when I realized have been working for about two hours.
A knock sounded on my office door and I looked up from my laptop wondering silently who it was.
Dimitri was supposed to inform me about anyone who wants to meet me before sending them up to me.
"Come in!"
The door creaked opened and Tricia walked in with a smile on her face.
I wasn't surprised at all to know it was her.
"Good morning Xander, How are you doing?"She said sweetly.
I don't like that Nickname...I hate pet names.
"Am fine"I replied without looking at her.
"Why aren't you looking at me Xander?"
"Am very busy,We can always talk later but not now"I replied.
"That's right baby,we have our whole life to talk and spend time with each other. I can't wait for us to get married Xander"Her eyes sparkled dreamingly as she stared at me.
I said nothing feeling weird about all this.
Wasn't there suppose to be excitement about getting married but I wasn't feeling anything... Just blank.
"Xander,My parents asked to invite you over for dinner tonight to discuss about our upcoming wedding. I hope you would honour their invite"She said.
I nodded. "What time?"
"7pm"She replied with a hopeful smile.
"Okay, I'll be there"I said and she squealed so loudly running towards me.
"Thank you,Thank you"She hugged me tightly taking me by surprise.
My body went stiff and I pushed her off me taking a few steps back.
Her eyes were filled with hurt and she quickly masked it up with a smile.
"Am sorry"She apologized.
I sighed.
"Look Tricia,You know am doing this just because of my daughter. Am sorry to say this but I dont love you, I've told you this so many times in the past. I hope you understand"
She nodded slowly.
"I know you're getting married to me because of Lily and am willing to make our relationship work"She smiled softly.
My phone started ringing on my desk and I looked at it only to see Lan calling.
"One second"I said to Tricia and answered the call immediately.
"Boss, There's bad news"He said.
"What happened?"I asked.
"Lily was rushed to the hospital"
"What!"
"What happened to her,Where were you?"I shouted walking out of my office as Tricia ran towards me in panic.
She was fine this morning, What suddenly happened to her.
My worst fears are beginning to happen right in front of me.
"If anything happens to my daughter, Consider yourself dead and fired"
