NORA'S POV
I was trapped, unable to move or escape. August's hands were on me, his fingers digging into my skin. I could feel his breath on my neck, his lips on mine.
I tried to scream, but my voice was frozen in my throat. I was trembling under him, Helpless and terrified.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my lower stomach. I gasped, touching the area that hurt and there was lot of blood in my hands.
August had stabbed me. He grinned and stabbed me with the knife again at the same spot and I let out a loud choked cry.
I woke up with a start, breathing heavily. My heart was pounding hard against my chest, and I winced, feeling a slight pain in my neck. I looked around and realized I was in my bedroom.
It was just a nightmare, I told myself. But it felt so real. I could still feel August's hands on me, his breath on my skin and it made my skin shudder in disgust.
I don't want him to touch me. I don't want him to kiss me. I don't want him to hurt me.
Fear crept up my spine. Where was he now? Was he still looking for me?
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I was safe now. For now.
And then I thought about Alexander, about the way he had kissed me on the cheek yesterday. It had been such a gentle, tender gesture. I wasn't expecting it but I liked it.
I smiled slightly, feeling a warmth in my chest. Just the thought of him made me forget about my nightmare.
But then the smile faded away when I remembered that I was supposed to stop thinking about him_I needed Control this feelings.
A thought crossed my mind, What does he feel about me?
Does he like me too?
I shook my head, pushing that thought away. It wasn't possible,Men like Alexander did'nt fall for girls like me. They were into elegant, Sophisticated women not broken, damaged girl like me.
I was just a simple Lady struggling to survive,I had no class,No Elegance,No beauty that could compare to the women he was used to.
And then there was the fact that he was getting married soon,The thought of it was like a stab to my chest. He wouldn't feel the same about me not when he was getting married to someone.
I felt a pang of sadness but I pushed it away,I couldn't afford to feel anything for Alexander cuz I'd get hurt. I'd be heartbroken in the end.
My priority right now was to stay safe from his Psychopath brother and then move on with my life. I was thinking of getting away from this city when all of this over.
Just as I was lost in thoughts, I heard a gentle knock on the door and my heart skipped a beat thinking it was Alexander.
"Come in!"I called out calmly, straightening out my bird's nest hair.
The door creaked open and I was surprised and happy to see Lily walk in, Her eyes were filled with tears.
"Nora"She called softly,Her voice trembling. She sat beside me on bed and I smiled softly, pulling her closer to me.
"How are you doing?"I asked softly, stroking her soft hair while she hugged me tightly.
Lily shook her head against my chest,I felt her wet tears on my shirt. "Not fine"She whispered,her voice cracking.
"You're hurt"She pulled away, her teary eyes fixed on me.
I hugged her again. "Don't cry, I'm fine"I said softly.
"See?"I gestured to myself as I pulled away. "I'm perfectly fine"I smiled at her but her eyes were fixed on the spot that was bandaged.
"It looks bad"She whispered, staring at it closely. "Does it hurt?"
"No it doesn't hurt, I'm perfectly fine. Have you eaten?"I asked, trying to change the topic cuz I didn't like seeing her sad.
"No"She shook her head. "I want to eat with you today"She grinned.
I smiled widely. "Perfect, So what do you wanna eat?"
Lily's face lit up in excitement. "Pancakes! I want pancakes"She exclaimed, Her eyes sparkling.
I laughed. "Okay,We can make pancakes but first I gotta shower and let's get you cleaned up, You have tears all over your face"
Lily nodded and as I handed her a tissue from the best side table,My eyes fell on the box that she had held earlier when she walked in. Lily blew out her nose and wiped her tears while I opened the box and saw that it was a new phone.
"Lily..... "I said. "Yours?"I asked.
She shook her head,A huge smile spreading across her face. "Yours, Daddy asked me to give you that"
My eyes went wide. "W.... what,Why?"I stuttered in confusion.
"You don't like it?"
I quickly shook my head. "No,I do like it. I'm just surprised."I said softly with a smile. "Where's your dad?"I asked.
Lily smiled again. "In his room"She answered and then frowned. "But Tricia is there with him"She added, frowning.
"Oh"I muttered. "I guess I'll thank him later"
Lily nodded and we sat in silence. Then she spoke again. "You don't like Tricia too right?"
I hesitated unsure of how to respond,I do dislike her_Not because she was Alexander's fiance but because she always tried to find a way to insult me or make me uncomfortable.
She was in Alexander's room and the thought of him with her made my heart ache.
"Lily I...I don't know,We just don't get along"I responded and Lily nodded.
"Now who wants some pancakes!?"I raised my voice grinning and her eyes lit up.
"Me!!!!!!"She exclaimed Jumping up from bed.
I laughed again watching her. Just being with her makes me happy. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all.

ALEXANDER POV
I had just ended the call with Dimitri, My secretary. I frowned wondering why had kept asking about Nora,It annoyed me.
Where was She? How was she doing? Was she okay?. He even asked for Nora's number and that had really irritated me so I told him to focus on working and hanged up.
Why was Dimitri so interested in Nora? Does he like her? The thought of it made my stomach twist and the grip on my phone tightened.
I pushed that stupid thought away, Dimitri was just being concerned and nice, That's all but I still felt Annoyed. I hated the thought of someone else interested in her...it infuriated me.
I had given her a new phone earlier hoping I could talk to her more whenever I wasn't around her and I also knew she didn't have a phone since she came here and it had been bothering me so I decided to buy that for her today.
Just then, I heard a knock on the door and I sighed. "Come in"
The door opened and Tricia walked in, I felt a sense of annoyance wash over me. I didn't want to deal with her right now.
"Xander,Baby"She said, walking towards me and I almost cringed. "I was hoping we could go out for lunch today"
I ached an eyebrow,My face skeptical. "August is out there, Planning to hurt my family and all you want to do is go out for lunch?"I asked,my voice rising in annoyance.
"Do you even care?"
Tricia's expression faltered and she took a step back. "I...I didn't know"She stammered.
I shook my head. "Of course you didn't, You never do. You never think about someone else except yourself"
"Alexander you're being unfair"She said, Her voice dripping with sweetness. "I do care and I also know that August is a crazy person but that doesn't mean we should be afraid of him"She took a step closer and I frowned.
"And I know you're letting this bother you because of Nora, August could do Whatever he wants with her,and it wouldn't affect us at all."
My anger boiled over at her words And I felt my face heat up with rage. "How dare you?!"I spat,my voice low with rage.
"How dare you stand there talking about her like she's disposable, She's a person, Tricia. A person who deserves all of the respect and care"
"Alexander...I..I..."
I cut her off. "Get out, Get out of my sight before I do something I'll regret"
Tricia's face paled as she backed away from me,Her eyes darting towards the door. "Xander... I'm sor..."
But I was beyond angry, I was consumed by rage. Tricia always got on my nerves. I hated it when she always talked about Nora like she was nothing but a gum under her feet.
"Get out!" I roared, my voice echoing through the room.
Just as Tricia was about to open the door,The door swung open and my mother walked in, Her eyes scanned the room and then landed on Tricia.
"Tricia,Did you just say that August could do whatever he wants with Nora and it wouldn't affect us"My mother asked in disbelief, gaping at Tricia is shock.
For a moment, Tricia seemed frozen like she was unsure to respond. "I..i..,That was not I meant..."She stammered.
My mother's eyes narrowed,Her eyes filled with Anger. "I know exactly what I heard Tricia,How could you say something so heartless Tricia?"
"That was not what it sounded like Mother...."
I watched Tricia, Feeling annoyance and disgust grow inside me. Was this the woman I was going to spend the rest of my life with?
My mother's next words surprised me. "I am highly disappointed in you"
Tricia's face fell and she stared at my mother in Shock. "I have more important things to worry about that your lunch plans"I said coldly and walked out.
