WHAT DID I DO TO MY MUM? EPISOD 6
🌃 WHAT DID I DO TO MY MUM? 🌃
EPISODE 6
I felt like closing my eyes forever when I was given a sack letter. A couple of tears welled up my eyes instantly flowing like a river.
"Why did I do?" I asked Mrs Naomi, the lady in charge of my department with tears whipping down my face like rain.
"I don't know, I was shocked when the bank manager gave me this letter this morning" she replied.
I screamed and fell to the earth crying my eyes out. "What did I do to deserve this?" I kept howling.
Mrs Naomi comforted me saying that she didn't know why the bank manager made such a decision.
"It's well dear, I hope you get another job to take care of yourself and your son," She said.
I envisioned that Ken had something in mind when he saw me in the bank and I was oblivious – I wasn't careful.
My child was seven months old and putting him in a crèche wouldn't be a bad idea.
I wanted to do that so as to be relieved from some duties – but unfortunately, all my plans had shattered.
My rent was due and I wanted to renew it when the month ends but unfortunately, I couldn't. The bank didn't pay me any dime – I was left with nothing.
I departed the bank walking like a madwoman. My hair, clothes were dishevelled and I was messy.
The strategies I had made to be financially stable was spoiled by Ken and his friend.
On the nail, I got home and my son was under the weather. He was shaking like a leaf and his body was hot as héll.
"What happened to him," I asked my neighbour who I begged to take care of him.
"He has been shaking and puking since you left for work" She replied.
Immediately, I carried him and took all the money in my savings box and headed to the pharmaceutical shop because I didn't have money to go to the hospital.
He was given some drugs by a pharmacy and his body temperature was reduced. I was in seventh heaven when I saw that his countenance now looked more lovely after he took the drugs.
Though I was heartbroken, I always see hope while looking at him. He was my last 'bus stop' and I couldn't afford to lose him.
When we came back from the pharmaceutical stall, I made a plateful pap with cow milk which he ate till he was satisfied.
I was walking on the air because my son was getting better. He had a cat nap after he finished eating. Sweat was excreting as he was sleeping.
My neighbour was shocked when she gave him a finger prod on his neck and discovered that it wasn't hot anymore.
I thought my son was taking a nap not knowing he was taking a dirt nap. I became startled when I found out that he had slept for more than five hours.
I touched him " Daddy o, wake up" but I couldn't hear his sound of breath. My heart raced and I placed my ear towards his cheek and I noticed that his heart wasn't pumping.
I started shouting and unluckily, my son had paid the debt of nature.
