I momentarily forgot about the huge man that was banging the door behind me and I was now facing Anne's Dad, sitting directly in front of me.
Standing in between death has never being so difficult for me. I couldn't open the door and run back because of the ma.d beast that almost killed me and I couldn't stay in the room either because of Anne's Dad.
I sank to the floor and I started ruminating on what to do next.
The man was still banging the door while I was still sitting down on the floor. I have forgotten about the man's axe and the moment the huge man realised that the door wouldn't bulge, he started using the Axe. He banged and screamed to the extent that I started wondering if he's human at all.
Anne's Dad was watching me as usual, waiting for me to move I guess.
I shifted a bit away from the door in other to evade a possible hit from the Axe.
Ten minutes has passed and Anne's Dad was still sitting there, watching me. His refusal to move got me thinking that I may be hallucinating. I rubbed my eyes aggressively and I stood up to check if Anne's Dad was really there.
To my greatest surprise, his Image started fading immediately I stood to check and I realised that I have been hallucinating since. Being chased by them all day is enough for me to hallucinate.
I was no longer hearing Grace's voice or screams. The only sound i was hearing was the sound of the Axe that was landing on the door with brutal ferocity. I knew that the door has gotten so weak and it won't take another round of such hit.
"I'll ki.ll you both tonight. I'm definitely going to slash your head into two", the man fumed from the other side of the door.
"What and who are you. Why are you after us"?.
"Let me bring this door down and I'll answer your stu.pid question", he replied with all seriousness.
"You are the stu.pid one here. Why are you after the life of two teenagers. Are you insane?", I screamed back in reply. I was trying to initiate a conversation and make him slow down, but it seems like the more he heard my voice, the angrier he became.
Another hit from the Axe destroyed the door and I was no standing face to face with him. There was no where to hid or run to and the only option was just to wait for his Axe to slash me into two.
I closed my eyes momentarily, expecting him to cut me. Surprisingly, nothing of such happened and that was when I opened my eyes to see Grace struggling with the man.
Apparently, she did the same thing I did for her. She walked up behind him and she smashed a pan on his head. The pan didn't knock him out and that was when he tried to strangle her again.
I jumped on him immediately I saw this and I started strangling him from behind too.
He was obviously stronger than the two of us combined, so, our hands had no effect on him. On realising that our hands wouldn't do much damage to him, I removed another knife from his waist and I tried to stab him again.
He knocked the knife out of my hand and that seems to make him remember what I did to him earlier.
He carried me and threw me against the wall.
Grace was still struggling with him when he carried her up. He threw her against the wall too and he carried his Axe. I thought that he was going to knock her out with the Axe, but what he did shocked me to my bones.
He slashed Grace into two equal halves and blood splattered all over the wall immediately he killed her.
I was now left alone with the mad beast, waiting for him to kill me too. At least, I won't have to die in the hands of our neighbour.
