The Man Who Met Himself...Complete Short Story ...By Desmond Ben

👻 THE MAN WHO MET HIMSELF 👻

Two men sat opposite each other in a bar at the far end of Lagos.

After a while, one of the man looked the other in the eye and said, “Listening to your accent and manner of speaking, I can’t help but think you’re from Abeokuta.”

“Yes, I am,” the other man proudly said.

“I’m also from Abeokuta,” the first man said. “And where in Abeokuta are you from?”

“I’m from Ogu,” the other man said.

“Oh, so am I,” the first man responded. “And what street do you live in?”

The other man said, “A lovely small street called Upper-state.”

The first man said, “Oh my God. This is such a small world. I’m also live in that street. What school did you go to?”

The other man answered, “I went to St Peters Academy, of course.”

The first man got really excited and said, “And so did I. Tell me, what year did you graduate?”

The other man answered, “Well, I graduated in 2017.”

The first man shockingly exclaimed, “This is no longer a coincidence. I can hardly believe our luck in winding up in the same place tonight. Can you believe it, I also graduated from St Peters in 2017 myself.”

About this time, another man, Daniel, walked into the bar, sat and ordered a drink.

Mark, the barman, walked over to Daniel, and shaking his head, he muttered, “This is going to be a long night tonight.”

Daniel asked, “Why do you say that, Mark?”

Mark looking at the two men who had been discussing, answered, “The Fagbemi twins are drunk again.”
